Can’t wait to launch our ‘Cutting Edge’ Issue…

With just one short week to go until we release our next issue, I am getting very excited because there is so much great content in this issue. I loved the interviews with Olivia Maragna (Award Winning Financial Planner), Sonia Lipski (Model and Social Entrepreneur), Donna DePola (Incest victim, reformed drug addict and life transformer), plus a host of other wonderful stories.

You will love Karen Creith’s ideas for cutting edge design in the home, plus another of Grace Maiolo’s yummy recipes for you to try.

If you are a skin lover, then you will want to try Aranya’s skin care products and read the story of how they came to be. Sam Crosby shares her journey and her why for this all-Australian natural skin care range.

Due out on 10 June, 2013, you can order your copy now from our shop and we will forward it to you when it’s ready.

Feedback about our first issue from Kath Mazzella OAM…

Last month I met Jessica Smith (cover story) for the first time and was intrigued with our short meeting.  When I read her full story in Golden Pen Magazine, it really hit home to me about the importance of understanding the depth of body image and how that is perceived through the community.  I admire her bravery in taking this step of going public on behalf of others.

Through hearing these stories, we can create more of a community awareness and better understanding, not only for ourselves, but also for the people around us, be it in the workplace or at home.

My sister is a quadriplegic and this body image issue could relate to people in wheel chairs, with disfigurements and even women like me, who are survivors of gynae issues.  I psychologically have a body image problem.  You may not be able to see it, but I live with it daily.  Seeing this article has really brought home the need for this sort of promotion to support the people who desire to give these types of issues a voice.

I take my hat off to Hayley and the Golden Pen team for being so forward thinking and with such great presentation.  The magazine is outstanding, with lots of pizzazz, variety – including men and women together through the content.

Update on Releasing the Butterfly…

Well we are two weeks down and I’m already starting to feel the difference in my body, my mind and my spirit.

Let me tell you some of the incredible changes I am noticing…

1.  When I went to the shops there was a set of steps that I used to literally drag myself up.  This week I took the steps two at a time and didn’t even raise my heart beat.

2.  I have so much more clarity when I am working.

3.  My house is coming into order.  As I am more disciplined it is flowing down into my family life.

4.  My body is shrinking, literally.  Two weeks along and the kilos are dropping off but better still I am burning fat!  7.5 cms off the waistline this week alone!

5.  I no longer feel pain when I get up and down off the chair.

6.  My fridge is full of fruit and vegetables – my kids are complaining big time!

7.  My husband’s level of respect for me has increased as he has seen the changes in me and he is now looking at addressing his own health issues, as are a number of my friends who I am influencing.

8.  I don’t feel hungry at all, as I am eating and drinking all day, so there is no “starvation” in my diet.

9.  My vision of being able to walk into any shop and buy whatever I want is getting closer and closer.  Might even get married again in a white dress!  Who knows.

Just thought I’d update you with a pic I took today so you can see my progress.
