Karen Creith will be contributing to the following sections:
1. Expression - Finding your Flare
Karen Creith (41) is firstly a wife and mother, then a business owner, and finally, a gifted Interior Stylist who is passionate about helping others to enjoy their home.
Dux of her year at High School, Karen has worked for the past 15 years in the family business, Parkes Furniture One (operating for over 45 years). Karen started her career at OPSM as a dispenser before marrying her husband, John, when she was 19 and raising two children, which she says she devoted herself to throughout their growing up years. With her youngest in Year 12, Karen is poised for the next big step in her career.
Karen lives in Parkes, NSW, but travels locally and interstate conducting in-home styling demonstrations, “fluffing” workshops and delivering inspirational public presentations about business, interior styling and life. She says her greatest joy is to be able to go into people’s homes, then set up what she sees in her shop for them to get the picture. Within 48 hours, they can have that look delivered and set up in their own home.
Karen’s philosophy is if you want something in life just ask for it, which is how Karen landed herself her current role as in-house stylist for Home Ideas and Modern Home magazines and then Editor in Chief and face of Style Your Home with Karen Creith, one magazine in a stable of 55 magazines for Express Publications.
Karen presents a weekly segment on Rock FM 95.5 and 2PK 1404 radio stations in Parkes. She has also appeared on 2DU Dubbo Radio Station; 105.9 Star FM Orange; 2SM Sydney on the Saturday afternoon show with Di Coveny; MTR377 with Glen Ridge on the Melbourne Sunday Afternoon Show and 2GB 873 with Chris Smith on the Afternoon Show. She has also been interviewed on ABC National Radio recently, as well as Red Tent Women’s Radio.
Karen was recently featured in Finally at 40 Life Begins Magazine and is also a columnist for Modern Home, Home Ideas and Interior Stylist for Style Magazine.
Karen has appeared in the local newspapers and on local WIN Television Station and has become a celebrity in Regional Australia.
With presentations to the Forbes CWA Ladies; Trundle Show Society Dinner; 80th Birthday Celebrations of Parkes High School where she was invited to speak as the student representative; and Professional Business Group of Parkes. She was also the guest judge at the Priscilla Night at the Parkes Elvis Festival 2011 and was called upon to host the American Ambassador, Jeffery Bleich, in her own for the Parkes Elvis Festival, 2011.
Karen’s positive outlook and high level of motivation and enthusiasm for her subject matter are inspirational. She is very much a family focused individual.
