An extract from Hayley Solich’s heart journal, entry 20 January 2020
You are here, now, at this moment.
This moment is what is important.
Don’t always be about looking forward, always being about the future. Because if you are always about looking forward to the future, you will never be able to be present and to enjoy this moment.
Who you are is not reflected by what you do.
However, what you do does reflect who you are.
You don’t define your identity by what you can accomplish with your hands. You define your identity by what God says about who you are. What you believe about who you are will be shown in your actions. It is vitally important that you understand who you are in God and adopt the identity that He has for you.
Be courageous. Stand up and be counted. But take time out to be present in the moment.
You don’t need a project. You need to stop and appreciate who you are in this moment. You need to rest. You need self-care. You need to accept help.
There is no shame in asking for help. There is no shame in stopping and appreciating the moment and living in this moment. There is no shame in chasing down your dreams if your dreams are in alignment with who you are and the identity that God has for you.
There will come a time when you will not be able to stop. When you feel like you are a rat in the wheel. Appreciate this rest time now and don’t be thinking that you wish there was more that you could be doing.
Unravel the spring in your heart because it is wound so tight.
Remember what it feels like to just sit and feel the breeze on your face and to listen to the birds and to watch the trees. I created you to enjoy life.
I am in the breeze. I am in the trees. I am the slide of the wind as it caresses your face like running your fingers over silk. I am the sigh of your deepest heart, that longing for peace and reconciliation. I am the whispers of your spirit. I am the lilting voice beckoning you to rest. I am the comfort in the storm, I am the sanctuary from the tempest. Learn to rest in me.
