An extract from Hayley Solich’s heart journal, entry 22 January 2020
At times your heart feels clouded; like a thunderous storm is about to happen.
You feel like you are so drenched with concerns and worries, with possibilities and opportunities, that you are failing to see the present.
The gift is the silver lining within the cloud.
It is the sunshine that comes after the rain.
It is the rainbow reflection of God’s presence and His character revealed as you emerge from the storm.
Still your heart.
You cannot circumnavigate a storm. You must baton down the hatches and weather the storm.
By trying to circumnavigate the storm, you are wearing yourself out. You are filling yourself with worry, with stress and anxiety. Instead, just baton down and wait it out. It will pass.
The wisdom is in knowing what to do when.
The time is not now to sort out stuff. The time now is to focus on surviving the storm. To focus on getting ready for next steps after the storm has passed. It is on honouring the present moment in which you are living.
You were given this opportunity, now you to honour it.
Your situation will work out. Youwill emerge better than before. Your life will move forward again. But there are lessons that you need to learn from this storm, from this situation.
Don’t dramatise. You are going to the conclusion that is the worst possible outcome. Allow yourself and others to struggle. Don’t be an invalid, nor make others one. Just be yourself. Get back to you. The you who understand faith, love and hope. And you will see, you will triumph through this storm.
